Use the FreeRTOS Real-Time Operating System on both SJ2 boards.Design custom PCBs for both the gamepad and matrix controller SJ2 boards. The main objective of this project was to create the “BUBBLE TROUBLE” video game displayed on a 64X64 RGB LED matrix, with one SJ2 board as a graphics processor/matrix controller, and another SJ2 board as a controller. Use your spike gun to pop all the bubbles from the largest to the smallest bits. This is all displayed in the LED matrix acting as the screen. Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate bubble shooter?. Race against time, collect all the traps and power-ups you can use to be the best at this game. Avoid the bubbles as they bounce through the level. Clear all the bubbles and get yourself out of trouble !! “Bubble Trouble” is a fun game where each time you hit a big bubble, it will split up into two smaller ones. Bubble Trouble is well worth the purchase price of $15.Copyright 1998 Jake Tenenbaum. Difficulty is enough to hold adults' interest, yet it's still enjoyable for children. It's pretty cool and it works. There is also a High-Score contest, which is taken quite seriously by many players. In summary, the interface and controls are delightfully simple. If you don't like the included soundtrack, or want something different, you can download one of thousands of files available on the Internet, rename the file, and use it as Bubble Trouble's soundtrack. The music is also cool because its based on the MOD sound format, an old Amiga Computer format. I believe this is one of the few games that parents can truly enjoy as much as their kids.Perhaps the most dynamic aspect of the game is the cool, included music, which was written by the authors. My friend enjoys playing Bubble Trouble for hours, and so do his boys (ages five and six). These make Bubble Trouble a cool game for your kids. At times, I found it hard to pull away from Bubble Trouble.Bubble Trouble's graphics are bright, colorful, non-violent, and fun as heck. Some call the game addictive and I can't argue with them. That's saying a lot, and the realization snuck up on me, but these reasons keep bringing me back. Additionally, you can earn time bonuses and extra lives.Bubble Trouble is a game of reflexes, skill and strategy. If used improperly, it can destroy you, too. Dynamite can blow up enemies who are close by. Bouncing balls bounce around one or more times. There are many different tools to use during your adventures. They all want to get Blinkie. You have to be careful, because some foes can also push bubbles, which can crush Blinkie quite effectively. Blinkie's enemies range from fairly slow fish, to speedy sharks, to even faster starfish. Blinkie uses the bubbles to "pop" the bad guys. Each level is a maze of bubbles that Blinkie can push around. The object of the game is Blinkie's survival in the cold, cruel ocean. They can see prey from more than 3 km away. They have excellent binocular vision, eight times better than that of a human. A natural design so fascinating, it inspired the design of the first jet engines! Their nostrils, for example, guide shock waves of air to stop the high pressure damaging their lungs while they dive. Peregrine falcons have many adaptations for hunting. How are peregrine falcons adapted for hunting? Peregrine falcons hunt mainly at dawn and dusk. Due to their speed, peregrine falcons aim not to catch their prey but to stun it with a blow before grabbing it as it falls – a hunting peregrine falcon is travelling so fast that a direct strike could injure it! If the prey is too heavy to carry, they will let it fall to the ground and eat it there. They hunt either by chasing their prey or by diving on it from a great height in a movement called a ‘stoop’. They will occasionally also catch mammals such as rabbits and, in times of extreme weather conditions, carrion. Peregrine falcons mostly feed on birds they have captured in flight including species such as feral pigeons, woodpigeons, blackbirds, starlings and black-headed gulls. The name ‘peregrine’ actually means ‘wanderer’ or ‘pilgrim’. These birds can fly as many as 15,500 miles every year!Īway from the nest, peregrine falcons are usually solitary and may travel widely. Some European peregrines spend the winter in Africa while some Arctic birds travel to South America. More northerly populations are migratory. Do peregrine falcons migrate?īritish and Irish peregrine falcons are present all year round, though females and juvenile may move away from upland areas during the autumn. Tower blocks, bridges and cathedrals offer the perfect urban alternative to high cliffs, while feral pigeons and starlings provide a reliable source of food. Peregrine falcons live mostly in open country, hunting over marshes, estuaries and agricultural land.ĭuring the breeding season, they make their nests on crags and rock faces including sea cliffs, quarries and, increasingly, buildings in urban areas. Juvenile peregrines look slightly different to the adults with dark brown plumage, streaks on the underside of their body and pale tips to their feathers. The crown of the head is dark, and they have a black ‘moustache’ which gives them a hooded expression. Their pale breast is spotted, and the undersides of their wings are barred with dark stripes. They have long, bluntly pointed wings and a relatively short tail, with dark blue wings and head. Peregrine falcons are one of the largest and most powerful species of falcon. However, peregrine falcons have a history of persecution, which has pushed them to the very edge of extinction before now though they are currently listed as least concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. They are also one of the most adaptable and can thrive in urban areas surrounded by humans. Peregrine falcons are the fastest creatures on the planet, reaching speeds of over 321 kph (200 mph) as they dive to catch their prey. The perfume department scene is always hilarious and hits too close to home for many of us that had to make the trip to JC Penny’s with our parents for some back to school clothes shopping. Anyways, Spongebob and Patrick agree to be part of the crew and who could forget Leedle Leedle Leedle LeeĪ fantastic line, “These guys are dorks, yes but they’re my dorks” Squidward obviously wants nothing to do with it so he gets tossed into the “Fly of Despair” a zipper that is attached to what seems to be a portal to a nightmare dimension. He then tells them they are now part of his ghostly crew. This episode is the one where the Flying Dutchman drops an anchor on Spongebob’s house, Squidward and Patrick get involved and climb the anchor to find the Flying Dutchman’s ship. Being able to share their stories is the foundation that the Peninsula Pulse and Door County Living were built on, and we look forward to delivering these stories to you every week.Įvery Friday we offer a glimpse into that week’s issue of the Peninsula Pulse, but you can hear much more about a given story than we’re able to fit in the newspaper. and I recorded the podcast’s first episode, we were fueled by the hope that by adding context to the discussions we were hearing around the peninsula, we’d be able to guide and contribute to the discourse in a positive way, and that goal is still at the heart of every episode we produce.ĭuring our first two years, we’ve been able to talk with some incredible business owners, politicians, musicians, chefs and others who make this community so special. To make our lives easier, most disc brands will group their discs into categories based on speed. If you throw it faster than the speed#, then the HSS# will be lowered(turn more)ĭiscs can be between speeds 1 - 15. If you don't throw a disc fast enough, the discs HSS# will be higher(turn less). By "as intended" I mean for the disc to fly as the final two numbers say it will. Speed -> Speed refers to how fast you have to throw a disc in order for it to fly as intended. Flight numbers usually appear in the same format -> ( Speed, Glide, HSS, LSS). Without explaining the ins and outs, here is a super basic overview of flight numbers. This is a long post, so I recommend jumping to the parts you are interested in instead of diving into the whole thing. Just a few sites that keep track of this sort of thing and allow you to easily compare discs.
I had a fun evening at Ordinaire and hope Oaklanders will support this new shop. I get really excited when good people open up small businesses in Oakland. They were trying to work it out with the coffee guy, but he refused. Red Whale was copyrighted by a guy who sells coffee in Canada. We learned the story about how the shop’s name was going to be Red Whale, but they ran into some problems. The owner and staff were all super nice and friendly. It was the best thing I had eaten all day. This finely sliced piece of salt flavored meat was so good. He then offered to give us a taste since he had an open bottle from the previous night.Īlthough we had eaten dinner, we were pretty intrigued by the cured meat that was being sliced and served to other customers. Bradford, the owner spent some time with us providing information about the California blend. The cheese was complimented with thin slices of baguette, toasted almonds, and chopped dried apricots.Īs we were nibbling on our snack and enjoying the wine at the counter, my BFF was inquiring about a wine we had never heard of that she was considering purchasing. It was the sweetest wine that was available by the glass and it would go well with the Seastack triple cream, the cheese we were eyeing. We reviewed the menu on the chalkboard, checked out the selection of wine bottles on the walls, and chatted a bit with the employees before we decided we would stay for wine and cheese in place of dessert.Īlthough the shop didn’t have any dessert wines, they recommended the Alfaro Chardonnay. Ordinaire had just officially opened two days ago, on Thursday. We walked into the newly opened Ordinaire, Oakland’s newest wine shop. After dinner last night in the Grandlake area of Oakland, my BFF and I were walking around contemplating dessert options. |
